I'm really interested in interpreting what we see and feel. Seems to me the best translators are designers aligned with bio-mimicry, and artisans, in fact anyone close to land and sea... or lake, or river... I try to watch where and how water flows, listen and then grab a trusty oar, or camera.
Nature invites us to immerse ourselves, not to dabble, nor deny. Can we understand the language of the universe? Is it about jumping into the deep end? Or sitting with whatever presents itself?
Toronto-born and raised, with a healthy dash of Hungarian ancestry, I turned a bunch of years in art & architectural history into Communications, PR & Marketing at the Guggenheim Museum, at a castle-turned-foundation for arts & the environment in Budapest.
Then I moved to Newport, RI and loved running regattas and food festivals. A few years were spent editing the work of the best marine photographers and writers from around the globe. Living in Valencia, Spain, during an America's Cup led to savoring some steps along the Camino de Santiago.
I've held my photographic journey close through motherhood and beyond. In love with light, from dim cave dwellings in Andalusia to Ontario’s clean outdoors, my captures explore serene moments amidst ever-changing Nature.
It's a healing thing.
I'm most interested in public and private partnerships that involve art, the ocean and multi-media design projects, so the other ways to collaborate with me are: Contessa Communications Consulting LLC and award-winning art & literary journal, Balancing the Tides.
